Joseph GOODWIN whose name appears, in the above paper married Mary, daughter of Deacon Timothy HAZALTINE. He was the son of Joseph, and his wife Elizabeth WARREN, grandson of John and his wife Patience WILLOUGHBY, great-grandson of William and his wife Deliverance TAYLOR, and great-great-grandson of Daniel and his wife Margaret SPENCER.

Daniel was in Kittery in 1652. He was the son of Daniel and his wife Dorothy BARKER of Suffolk, grandson of Daniel, who owned an estate at "Great Bakly", Essex County, England, which was called "Millers". The Children of Daniel, the emigrant, were Daniel, born in 1656, married Anne, daughter of Miles THOMPSON, Dec 11, 1686 and died July 31, 1697; Thomas, married Mehitable, daughter of Lient. Roger PLAISTED; William, married Deliverance TAYLOR; Moses, married Abigail ____ Sept 7, 1694; Mrs. Daniel STONE, and Mrs. Sarah BARNES. The farms on which Thomas and Moses resided are still in the family at South Berwick. The former is owned by George S. and the latter by Mark F. GOODWIN. Daniel, the emigrant, died in 1713. His second wife was Sarah SANDERS, widow of Peter TURBET.

Conenants Articles & Agreements made & Concluded on between Daniel GOODWIN Sen. Of Kittery in the Parish of Berwick in the County of York in the Province of Massachusetts Bay in New England in ye one part and his son Thomas GOODIN of the Parish County & Province afore sd on the Other Part Witnesseth that the said Daniel GOODIN doth by these Presents let & Lease unto Sd Thomas GOODIN his Heirs Execrs Admrs and Assigns All his Home Stead Lands & Orchard lying & being at a place commonly called & known by the Name of Slutts Corner to the Halves ---------
Also all his Stock of Cattle to the halves during the natural life fo the said Daniel GOODIN and further the sd Daniel GOODIN by these Presents, doth convenant & agree with him the sd Thomas GOODIN that after ye Decease of him the sd Daniel GOODIN all the above mentioned Homestead Land House Orchard Barn & all other out Houses with the Land purchased of mr Eliakim Hutchinson the sd Swamp & meadow Gound at Sluttts Corner afore d, & Fifteen acres of Land at ye Head of Coxes Pond being a Town Grant Granted to the sd Daniel GOODIN - also a Piece of Land wch the sd Daniel GOODIN and Humphrey SPENCER have makd an agreement about also twenty five acres Land at Pipestav Hill bought of Moses SPENCER and the sd Thomas GOODIN shall annually him his Heirs Execrs Adminrs of assigns renter deliver & pay in to him in the sd Daniel GOODIN during his Natural life the one half of moiety of the Produce of the Lands & Orchard both in Grane Grase and Fruit & to Improve sd Land to the best Advantage and also half the Incrrease of ye Stock of Cattle & half the milk of the Cows yield during ye Term aforesd & Provide him with Fire wood washing & water & he ye sd Thomas GOODWIN his Heirs Execrs Adminrs or Assigns immediately after the Decease of the sd Daniel GOODIN shall pay unto his Daughter Sarah Barnes Ten Pounds in the money being the Legacy ordered her by her Father. In Consideration & on the faithful performance of all above written on the Part of ye sd Thomas GOODWIN his Heirs Execrs Adminrs or Assigns I the sd Daniel GOODWIN do by these Presents give grant bargain sell aliene assign enfeoffe set over & confirm unto my sd Son Thomas GOODWIN his Heirs & assigns forever all the above Land Orchards buildings & meadow Gound, To have & to hold to him his Heirs and Assigns forever to his & their own only proper use Benefit & Behoof forevermore against ye unlawful Claims and Demands of me ye sd Daniel GOODWIN my Heirs Execrs or adminrs & all other Person or Persons whatsoever & that it shall & may be lawful to & for ye sd Thomas GOODWIN his Heirs Execrs Admrs or assigns. To have hold use occupy posess & enjoy the same & every Part thereof from hence forth & forever without any molestation or Interuption from me ye sd Daniel GOODWIN my Heirs Execrs or adminrs & from all other Person or Persons whatsoever shall & will warrant acquit & Defend him the sd Thomas GOODWIN his Heirs Execrs adminrs or assigns in the quiet & peacable possession thereof & of every Part & Parcel thereof from hence forth & forevermore.

In Witness whereof I ye sd Daniel GOODWIN have hereunto set my Hand & Seal the 13th Day of Decr Annoq Domini 1711th in ye tenth year of her majts Reign Queen Anne of great Britian &c.
